Tactics

Educate consumers about FSU achievements

FSU has long been underrecognized by university peers, high school counselors and the general population which led to us engaging in a new campaign to correctly establish messaging that reflects our preeminent status as a top 25 public research university.

Create and promote a new FSU brand identity

FSU is developing a new brand identity that is consistent with our national and international stature. This comprehensive process will include the development of brand messaging and assessments of how they are perceived by various populations.

Deploy new brand across campus and through various media

Once our brand identity has been established, it will be the obligation of all units on campus to fully integrate the brand in their visual media and their publications and messaging.


Activities and Accomplishments

  • Florida State University retained its place in the Top 20 among national public universities in the latest S. News & World Report rankings, while improving in 11 of 15 key factors considered in the publication’s methodology. Once again, the metrics shined a spotlight on Florida State’s continued emphasis on student success.
  • The University received its highest yet reputational score from national university presidents in the S. News & World Report‘s undergraduate academic programs survey.
  • University Communications won two national CASE Circle of Excellence awards for its work in elevating the university’s reputation nationwide and for a creative, interactive social media program to increase engagement by having students directly share their personal experiences and knowledge about FSU.
  • FSU developed a new brand identity to elevate the University’s academic reputation and is currently in the implementation phase.
